The Hope Centre
The Hope Centre is a haven of respite and heart for those infected and affected by the HIV/AIDS virus. Based in Pietersmaritzburg, South Africa, children and adults from the surrounding communities are brought to the Hope Centre to be cleaned, clothed, fed and loved. Some die there peacefully, others go home restored and renewed. Presently 18 small children live at the centre.
The centre is also a base for community care. Many who are afflicted are isolated but those volunteers who have been trained at the Hope Centre go out to them with whatever means they have to give to the sick and needy. Sometimes food and clothes, sometimes medicine, always comfort.
The centre’s needs are huge. With the little they have, there are many who have been reached through education and training programmes promoting life and love.
Hope for the hopeless, love where there is fear and a light in the darkness.
